I am so excited to read how you plan to integrate multimedia in your future classrooms. Multimedia such as digital movies can be used in any curricular area. The example above could be used in a history class as a way to re-create a historical moment using digital images and actual audio broadcasts found on the Internet. Take a minute and check it out.

What historical moment could you re-create?

I think someone could re-create Abe Lincoln's death.

I know that after watching the example video, I feel more connected to the event. Seeing it through the digital images made it feel like I was actually witnessing the shooting of JFK, and it truly captured the emotions of the event. I know that through researching for my protest song, I came across many historical moments that could be recreated. Within my visual interpretation, I incorporated a speech from FDR during World War II. I believe that such additions help to present the material in a way that can create a deeper impact, helping students to remember and know the significance of such historical events.

I think the video is a great way to reconnect with a moment in history and learn new things about that event that you did not know in the past. If given the opportunity I would re-create an outline of Washington's life.

I would recreate d-day on teh beaches of normandy in france because i am extremely interested in WWII. I know that it would be extremely difficult to get video or even audio from the event but I think that is what I would choose to recreate.

I think this video was very effective in recreating JFK's assasination. I think of all moments I would recreate the September 11 tragedy because it's something that is still fresh in our memories.

This historical moment has always touched my heart and made me examine what can happen in our society. The historical moment that I would want to create would be Sept. 11. That is the day that our generation will have imprinted into our lives.

The video creates a great visual aid to show children and adults about JFK's death. It really connects the watcher with this moment in history. I think that the historical moment that I would like to recreate is Martin Luther King Jr's speech "I Have A Dream". It would be a great thing to show during black history month or teaching about the civil rights movement. Having a visual aid will help visualize being there.

I think that any visual representation of an event can make one feel connected to that event. When emotional ties are made, one will be more likely to remember the movie. This video did just that, emotional ties have been made. Introducing a video is a great way to approach any lesson, history can benefit from movies because it is hard to depict an event if one was not there. The movie can bring a person to the event, even if they weren’t even born when the event happened! I think that it would be cool to make a video about the Iraq war. I feel that even though the war is occurring in the present time, students don't really understand what is happing in the battle zones!

I think I could re-create 9-11-01. There are so many powerful images to use and it would get the message across better. Not to mention we lived through it and someday our students may not have.

If I was teaching history, I would like to recreate the great depression. There is a ton of music and photos that would be very powerful if put into video form. I think it would be a very effective way to show students what it was like during that time.

This video and idea is a great way to make history class a little more interesting. You could make it a project for the kids to do, relating to a historical event.
A good example could be the first man to walk on the moon.

Anything, the options are open and endless. I really am all about these types of movies!

I think this was a really cool way to re-create history. If I could do it, I would re-create Martin Luther King's speech for I Had A Dream and try and get actual footage from that speech.

I agree with Cierra, you feel more connected to the event and what has happened in the past. Even recreating a small video about a war that has happened in the past would give the students a better understanding of what happen.

After watching that video, it does go to show that you can incorporate technology into any other curriculua subject. Besides lecturing facts, digital movies allow for students to get actively involved. It also provides a more personal connection because history is taking place right before their eyes and it gives students a sense of why historical events are significant to today's world. If I could recreate any moment in history, the attack on Pearl Harbor and the moments before and after that event would be choice. My grandfather was at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked and creating a movie based on those attacks would create a deeper impact for me as well as my students.

I think that I would like to re-create Martin Luther King Jr.'s peace movement, and also his assassination. Digital images enhance learning so much and make the event much more real to people who were not there to witness it.

I think digital media is a great way to help have a stronger connection to historical events. I would choose Neil Armstrong's walk on the moon because there are audio clips of him talking that I could incorporate into the video. Also because this was a very monumental step in communication and travel and I think a digital movie is a very appropriate way to connect this event with media.

That was a really neat video to watch. I thought it was really interesting and young children can look at this and understand what had happened to him. I think I could re-create the event of Sept. 11th. I also agree with what someone else said about the NIU. I have been watching many vidoes that people have posted on facebook and it's really neat yet sad to watch it but it does impact everyone.

I think that showing movies such as this one is a great way for students to better understand what actually happened in history. Showing a video takes away from the everyday boring class routine. I personally would show a video of 9/11 because it deals with the present. More people are able to relate to the problems in the world today.

I thought that this video was a good way for students to be able to relate to a moment that happened before their time. It gives them the opportunity to think about it and realize the history that has become of this historical event. If I chose to re-create an event, I think it would have to be September 11. Just because it happened at a time where I can relate to it, and there are so many powerful images and so much history made at this time.

A video reenactment of a historical event is a great idea. Most kids believe that history is a boring subject, and videos make it come alive. I know that after watching that video of JFK's assassination, I felt very emotional. I think that kids would react the same way. Also, a video is much more memorable than just a lecture about the facts of a historical event. I think that I would reenact Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech.
